1st Day Cycling (11 November) - Cu Chi Tunnels

Before starting to cycle, we were taken to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, around 20km outside Ho Chi Minh City. These were a network of 200km of tunnels that were used by the Viet Kong in the Vietnam war. They had a number of levels, to protect villagers from the US bombing attacks, and also serve as ways of getting close to the US (and its allies) for their own attacks. This picture shows one of the area guards.
